2-22 at 2 --- Circle of Light Event

Our Lake Worth Casino, built in 1922, has been serving the public for 87 years.

Generation after generation has enjoyed the shopping and restaurants along with the ballroom. My grandfather and grandmother went to the Lake Worth Beach and Casino. My Mother went every day, while she was able, to swim in the ocean, enjoying water aerobics at our pool and dining at John G’s, her favorite restaurant. I, as a kid, used to dance there on Friday nights and hung out there every weekend. For many, it is a part of our heritage. It is part of our history. It is Lake Worth. And it is our desire to see it restored and remain in the same location that we have enjoyed for all of these years.

The residents of Lake Worth have voted twice now to protect our beach—once in 2004, winning by over 81% of the vote. In 2005, the Parks Protection Amendment was passed by the citizens here. After that, the citizens once again went out to protect our beach by doing a referendum and signatures were certified by the Supervisor of Elections. The City of Lake Worth sued the PAC. I believe that the citizens have spoken loud and clear that they want to protect our beach/park, don’t you?

Because the circle is a universal symbol of unity and wholeness, we are circling the Casino to show our support for restoration not demolition and to preserve our past.

Come and be a part of preserving our history by joining the circle.
