ACORN, fallen from the tree

Frankly, I was really surprised that we did not see ACORN running around our city this election campaign. Perhaps with all the negative publicity it has received, the forces that be made a wise decision.

Right now, it is suing the Federal government citing an antiquated legal concept that it says that the government has implemented against them and is prohibited under our Constitution--the Bill of Attainder.

This “entitlement” philosophy should end. No group is just entitled to federal money. ACORN now will challenge the United States government as it claims that it was singled out and cut off to all funding, not only to them but to its affiliates, subsidiaries, and/or allied organizations by President Obama. If ACORN does not get government grants, it will eventually cease to exist.

Think about that. Fraud, abuse and waste will be ended. We will never again see ACORN people campaigning on our city streets. And Bertha Lewis, who has been with ACORN for 16 years, can just keep on moaning and eventually wonder how she will be paid as ACORN's Chief Executive.
