Swearing In Ceremony and Good Bye to Retha Lowe

Comment Up
After 12 years of elected office, Retha Lowe says, "good bye"

All her friends and supporters gave her a standing ovation with chants of "Retha, Retha, Retha." This was a day to recognize all those years she has devoted to the City. The Mayor gave her a plaque. We all cheered. Retha cried. It was very emotional.

The expected supporter of illegal aliens yelling racist comments towards new city commissioner, Scott Maxwell. She was escorted out by the Sheriff.

Would it be in poor taste amidst all this tearful loveliness to say that as my neighborhood's representative Commissioner ,she really, really sucked ? She willfully tried to destroy the Lake Osborne single family neighborhood . Does anybody remember when she played with a 15 year old girls emotions (my neighbor Hanna Claeger ) like a cat plays with a mouse ? She told Hanna that her words in front of the Commission had "touched my heart",made the over 100 neighbors in attendance think that she was standing behind our neighborhood, and then she voted against us. Retha Lowe made a fifteen year old girl cry.I say good riddance to an EXTREMELY crappy person, Retha Lowe.Katie Mcgiveron

How Ironic Katie, I have been talking about this very event for the last week and a half. About taking a young girl and playing with her emotions.

I don't believe it was Retha that made her cry, but those of you who worked her into a frenzy over the Sunset situation.

I was younger then Hanna when I went before the school board and advocated why we should keep foreign languages as part of the curriculum. I did this with out crying.

The viewpoint I expressed was mine, one I felt passionately about and believed in. Other students and I experienced firsthand the benefit of this education and the positive influence it had on our lives.

I wasn't swayed by biased adult opinions as I feel Hanna was, or led astray like the young girl at the Cultural Plaza the Thursday before last.

Karri, how dare you even comment on this situation! Your neighbourhood was not threatened by this God-awful mess!! Hannah, like the rest of the neighbours, knew EXACTLY what was at stake !(Unlike the young child that Elizabeth dragged with her when she was stealing campaign signs). At 15 ,Hanna was blessed with more brains than Retha, who she was speaking to,will ever have ! I'll bet you are one of the "I'm better than you crowd" who live east of Dixie.Or do you even live in Lake Worth.? You must be one of the real estate/rapists, or maybe your husband was ,that was lined up with the saliva dripping down your chins waiting to use Lake Worth to line your greedy pockets. It was disgusting to see how some of you residents in town were cheering on the destruction of a fellow neighbourhood. We had an elected official,Retha Lowe ,that thought that three out of town flippers mattered more than an established, tax paying, STABLE !!!!!! neighbourhood and the people that lived there. Elected officials that behave in the disgusting way that Retha did so many times, should crawl away in shame. Oh, I'm sorry, puppet-Retha doesn't even know she did anything wrong. Loretta didn't program her with a conscience.(By the way Karri, do you miss Rhetha looking down at Dave Vespo to see how she should vote? Thanks to our new Commission , Lake Worth will be protected from bloodsuckers like you ,Kari. Go away and rape some other town.

Just so we are clear, are you referring to me or Mary Lindsey when you say "how dare you even comment on this situation!".

I have plenty of threats in my neighborhood. I battle drug addicts, prostitution and break-ins on a daily basis because you are right; I do live in Lake Worth east of Dixie. We have three homes within the city limits and do not rent any of them.

I am very aware and very clear that I am not better than anyone else. I am looking to move West of '95 in Lake Worth and perhaps that will make me a better person.

Neither my husband nor I have a real estate license, but if you tell me we do, I am sure you know better than we do.

My husband and I have never raped anyone. I worked with battered and abused men, women and children for many years. I was the first person in Palm Beach County to come to the assistance of a child in Operation Safe Place. My husband was very active in the same program and transported more children to safety than anyone else several years in a row.

You are absolutely right; I am guilty of having saliva drip down my chin a lot, but it is not from using Lake Worth to line my pockets. While my business is located within Lake Worth, 99.5% of the work I do is not.

Katie, we have never cheered on the destruction of a neighborhood. In fact we have torn down buildings on our properties that came back to us in a total state of disrepair (after selling them and the buyer defaulted on three mortages in one instance).

I have a hard time not fainting at the sight of blood and do faint when I have mine drawn; so I find it rather amusing to be accused of being a bloodsucker.
