Politics always gets in the way.
From Susan Stanton, City Manager:
During the weekend I have had a number of conversations about the need to complete and finalize the Financing and marketing plan as we discussed during the work session prior to the approval of the REG Architect agreement. I concur that it makes good business sense to obtain additional information that will augment the plan developed by City staff. This project is extremely revenue sensitive to the current economic pressures in the community. I have asked Pam to remove it from the agenda.
So, the question is, when will the City have the necessary information? There are always delays and it always evolves around politics. This decision makes NO sense to me particularly when it is not a binding contract with the architect.
