Comment Up
Finally, a member of Congress with the balls to tell the truth regarding Haiti--

Haiti has been one of the most corrupt and poorest countries on the Planet. According to Wikipedia, "Political corruption is a common problem in Haiti. The country has consistently ranked as one of the most corrupt nations according to the Corruption Perceptions Index, a measure of perceived political corruption. In 2006, Haiti was ranked as the most corrupt nation out of the 163 that were surveyed for the Index. The International Red Cross reported that Haiti was 155th out of 159 countries in a similar survey of corrupt countries."

“To ensure that U.S. foreign assistance to Haiti remains transparent and effective, I also plan on introducing legislation to that end this Congress, calling for increased and sustained oversight over U.S. funding to Haiti,” said Lehtinen.

While I agree and have read about how corrupt Haiti is and know it is true, a culture of corruption, that is why many of the Haitians come here and do the same thing here in this very same city. Corruption is rampant throughout all of Latin America too, and that same corruption is now a huge part of the USA and how we do things, we need changes, we need the Congressional Reform Act of 2011 in this country ourselves with our senators and State Reps. Big business, greed, corruption, are all evils that are destroying many countries and governments, it is a sin, we all need to stand up against this and stop settling for all this corruption and mediocrity.
