The Mentoring Center, aka Illegal Hiring Hall in Lake Worth

Comment Up

The deadbeat tenants are out and our building looks like hell. Even though they are responsible for its repairs, it sounded as if the City is hesitant to go after that section of the Lease...something to do with law suits. Why does everyone get all hot and sweaty when that word "law suit" is mentioned? Maybe that's why the Lake Worth Herald likes to write about them so often. Commissioner Scott Maxwell asked last night, "When has a law suit ever bothered you?"

It was a sad looking sight today as I drove by our Shuffleboard Court. I did not cross the yellow caution tape but took a photo of the parking lot which was full of broken glass and cigarette butts.

As Joe Kroll mentioned last night, they have a dumpster there and they are cleaning up the property. The contents belonging to the Mentoring Center have been relocated to one area of the interior of the building and are locked. It was also mentioned that the Mentoring Center, aka, Illegal Hiring Hall, said that their eviction notice is not legal because it was not sent by certified letter.

Who are they kidding?

I have been going to the shuffle board courts for 8 years.. I just wanted to say that the shuffle board courts are much cleaner now. When Mrs T was in charge ( parks and recreation Dept)there were drunks everywhere. People drinking smoking weed in plain sight Mrs T would call the police.. sometimes several times a day but The Lake Worth police didnt' even bother to arrest illegals for open container laws or disordably charges, They would go to jail for a day ,get out and then never pay thier fines so it was a waste of money to arrest them unless there was a felony involved or someone pissed off one of the cops I am not pro labor center.. infact I believe that the owners Lisa and Don were soliciting donations.. goverment grants with the primary purpose of putting the money in thier pockets instead of it bennifitiing the guatamalins. The hall was to help the central americans in lake worth find work. to educate them ect.. On the contrary I beleive The owners were putting those donataions, grants in thier pockets and the ppl who really needed help never saw it except maybe a free cup of coffee.. day old publix give aways Dounts ect. and ofcourse the ability to use donated computers from the school board of palm beach county. No the shuffle board court is CLEANER.. it has been recently painted. new roof.. new parking lot.new bathrooms.. What a waste it is now to just tear down all of the work that was done to it..I am not for putting the labor center back in place.. I thought that was a joke, but it justs seems like a waste to me..Lets see how the park will work.
