Bill Graham is Vindicated

Comment Up
Former School Board member, Bill Graham, was the only Palm Beach County School Board member who advocated for merit raises. He lost the election this past November. Now the Florida Senate is saying the same thing.

Read about it:
Senate passes bill to tie teacher's pay to performance.

Well, let me ask this--
Do you think that teaches who excel at their jobs and really make a difference in the lives of the children they teach should get the SAME raise as one who is just passing the time to get his retirement check, playing on his I-Pod and could care less about the "little brats?"

If a child has special needs he is put into a special class with special teachers that can help.

If there is a class full of Spanish speaking kids then I doubt if they would be assigned a teacher who was only English speaking.

Rewards should be for excellence, not the other way around. That is why I say tipping at restaurants is TOTALLY out of hand...they all get the same 20% whether they give you good service or not.
