Aw gee, The Cottage forgot to pay its unemployment tax

Comment Up
Now Folks, as one of our commissioners would say, "Folks, don't you think these documents are telling a story?" Shouldn't we perhaps investigate the motivations of the owners who went on a pit bull attack against our officials? There are more liens but I do believe this shows that there are problems here. Rallying support to increase your business is okay but not they way this came down. The motto these days is, "Let's blame everyone else for the messes we make."

You forgot to finish that sentence with "and stomp them into the ground"

"I demand that the gay/lesbian/ etc population in our city step up to the plate and condemn the Lufty's and the Cottage for their attacks. All they are interested in is themselves. In fact, no more gay Pride parade because there would be no more pride left."
This was not my comment, but I agree 100% with it! We ,as a community,ALL of us,gay, straight, whatever, should not put up with this slander. Lake Worth did not deserve this.We have a history here in Lake Worth of standing together as a community, and we as a community should NOT ALLOW THIS LIE TO GO UNPUNISHED!I hope you people who were not from here and were USED by these people, direct your anger where it belongs-at the Cottage!

CAN THE CITY SUE?

I am confused about all this anger. Why is everyone assuming that the allegations are false. The commission did not conduct an investigation. How do we know if this happened or if this was all a lie without an investigation. So we condemn the Cottage but this is based only on the fact that Stanton denied the allegations. With no proof one way or another I don't know who to believe. If there is proof that the allegations are true or false please publish that proof here.

Well, gee whiz. Do you even know what the allegations are? This is an establishment that tarnished the entire city of Lake Worth and some people in it. Until you understand what they did, I guess you will stay confused. And go back to The Cottage and have another drink.

Seems like you are refusing to answer the question Lynn and you are going after the commentator. The allegation was selective enforcement of code based on sexual orientation. What proof do we have that this is not true or false. The commission refused to investigate and therefore there is no way of ever knowing if it's true.

Look, be a little pit bull if you want. Scott Maxwell's idea was motivated by politics, discussed at the meeting and REJECTED for what it was. Didn't you understand what was testified to at the meeting? You love the PBSO so much--don't you believe them either? The back-up is the proof. What they said was the proof. Nothing else was needed to do. Get over it because that's politics and sometimes there are actually people who are elected who can see through the bull. This is one of those times.

Congratulations on a great piece of investigative journalism.

mmmm Still no real answer. Look around the city. The lack of code enforcement is disturbing. So if this business was hasseled by the city who had to drive by 30 death traps to get from their office to the cottage, while ignoring the death traps to jump on a noise complaint there is something there. And that ain't political

The City has been harassed, Jo-Ann Golden was harassed and maligned and The Cottage threw the book at Susan Stanton because of self-serving interests. And now you are HARASSING ME.

Death traps? Code Enforcement is doing its job. Why don't you clean up your yard instead of blaming everything on someone else?" mmmm?

You are never going to admit the truth because your objective is to find fault with this management and our elected officials. Staff can only do so much.

This back and forth discussion is like our nations leaders....will there be a time limit and this discussion be "shut down" its apparent that there are two different opinions and neither of you are going to compromise and meet in the middle.

I mean this post with humor by the way! :-) God Save the Queen!

There is never a rational reason to "compromise" with liars. That is what The Cottage and its owners/friends are.
