Lake Worth Golf Course

Comment Up
Thank you to the Post for running this great article on the Lake Worth Golf Course.

No comments are being accepted at the PB Post and we have to wonder why. There are some in this city who believe that the course is 1) not making enough money and therefore 2) should be used for other uses such as soccer. I was told that one last night.

With the proper marketing, we can make this beautiful 18 hole golfcourse sustainable as well as the Lagoon Restaurant--one of our greatest assets in Lake Worth.

You are right on target on this one. I also heard tell of people wanting soccer fields on the intracoastal. The golf course is one of our least marketed assets. Where is the sign on I-95? How about one on Dixie at 7th.It is too bad that the Lagoon resturant was not built on the south side of the course at Lucerne where cars coming from Palm Beach way could just drive in. That was a missed opportunity. Lets not let this asset wither away. We have to keep it in the citizens minds. Thanks again.

Wasn't Mulvehill supposed to be the marketing guru? Isn't that why they didn't hire a management company to run the golf course, because she wanted control? What happened?

Are you for "real" anonymous above? Where ever does this stuff come from?

Lynn, I worked at the Golf Course, When it was first redone. The Golfers want to keep it there private club, and all the commissions since that have let them. Raise the fee and the memberships, and maybe the rest of the city could get some use from it.

I agree ,Lynn, we need to market this great asset! We could have a top notch banquet facility if we put some resourses into this!

The only problem with that is the design was not done correctly, and the golfers would be walking thru when ever there is a function going on.

No one in this city or on the commission had better touch this golf course or even think about doing anything with it other than what it is intended to be. Hell to pay.

Lynn, the Golf Course has lost money for several year's I think it is time to reevaluate the land use, and put something more productive in it's place.

Well, have you ever considered the reasons why it has lost money?

Are you COMPLETELY OUT OF YOUR TREE?

God, you people could ruin a wet dream as the expression goes.
