Lake Worth Irrigation charge

Comment Up
Even if you do not use one drop of water on irrigation, the City of Lake Worth charges you a minimum charge. My building was charged $64.60 plus $4.34 service charge or a total of $68.93.

I called today to find out about it as my sprinklers have been turned off for at least 9 weeks because of the rain. I am uncertain if this is just a charge for a condo building or if all single family residences get it stuck to them as well.

It might be similar to that $34.50 for electric service whether you use electricity or not.

Conservation is expensive in Lake Worth.

You should consider ripping out the irrigation system and replacing all that grass with Xeriscape, it would look better and you would be helping use less water.

Sorry--I'm not into weeds. Plush, green grass is the way to go.

Sorry, but that is the thinking that has gotten us in trouble. Large grass lawns use too much water, and the fertilizers can damage our ground water, lakes and wildlife.

It's time to get with the times Lynn!

Harping? Such a succinct message anonymous...how very clever of you. Thanks for your thoughts.

No one was complaining--just surprised, that's all. Did YOU know about the minimum charge?

I am harping about the high charges for electric and water. I have heard all the fear mongering about being at the mercy of raping and poor service by outsiders, but i don't see what we have as any better that the worst of our fears.

Lawns produce more oxygen per person than xeriscaping. Also, many commercial fertilizers have cleaned up their acts and are environmentally friendly.Great green lawns.Lawns,a boon to mankind everywhere.Lawns, they're not just for croquet anymore.
