Fire victims get help from a lot of Lake Worth Heroes

Comment up

Mark Parrilla was recently in the news for offering help, as so many others have, to the couple who lost their home in a fire. He, along with others from our city are all Lake Worth Heroes donating time, money and staples to Paul and Carol Allen of Hypoluxo.  Lake Worthians are reaching out beyond our borders. Mark sent out his accounting to all the local blogs but in order to avoid redundancy, please read Wes Blackman's blog for Mark's rendition on the volunteers who have been giving so much.

The Allens lost everything in this home fire. One thing was their prosthetic devices. Barbara Jean Weber went into action and contacted Dr. Manoj Patel who had advertised in Milton's Magazine, and he said "yes."

Mark says, "I hope you share the news of these blessings that are a direct result and answer to prayers and reaching out to neighbors in Lake Worth. We live in an AMAZING CITY! I am so PROUD THAT LAKE WORTH IS OUR HOME!"

Great, we have a lot of caring people here in Lake Worth! What a great city. WE do have a lot of good people, a lot of caring people. Mark and so many of us care. That is what makes us a great city. It is too bad that are leaders weren't so self serving. They don't care, they don't listen to us, nor the city manager, they all ignore us. As far as Dr. Patel, this was nice of him to do, he can afford it, his office charges too much for procedures and price gouges clients, so he can afford to do some good charity work. Like Javier always says, we live in a Mayberry, what a great little city with so many loving people. Just wish our cm and some of our elected officials cared a little more and would listen to us.

There are plenty of wealthy dentists--none of them reached out. Let's give Dr. Patel a great "thank you" instead of putting him down for considering the needs of these poor people just because he is a professional who makes a good living through his education and entrepreneurial spirit. It was a wonderful gesture. He didn't have to do this.

I would be interested in helping out if I had a little more information.
Did this couple live in Hypoluxo?
Are they employed and where? Did they have insurance? I know the people of Lake Worth have huge hearts.
I always thought It would be nice if my community was as giving.

To the anonymous poster with the questions about the Allen's affairs. Paul is a retired private fire fighter of Pratt Whitney in CT with an $1,100.00 pension and his wife Carol a disabled social worker. They used to rent in Hypuloxo, they couldn't afford insurance and the landlord held none on the trailer as well. This are all issues I address before I apply my efforts. I would not want to mispend my time I donate freely on someone with resources to resolve their lives pitfalls.

Sincerely,
Mark Anthony Parrilla
