Circumventing the law

California always has "better" ideas-- of course, they are broke.

From the LA Times:

Los Angeles officials are considering a plan to turn the library card into a form of identification that the city’s large illegal immigrant population could use to open bank accounts and access an array of city services. The City Council last month voted unanimously to study the plan, which would have Los Angeles join the growing number of cities across the nation that offer various forms of identification to undocumented workers and others who cannot get driver’s licenses because of their immigration status.

Several cities in California have filed for bankruptcy in order to keep police and firefighters on the street and possibly keep some parks and libraries open while they work out their finances. The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) did a study on the costs of healthcare, education, and incarceration of illegal aliens, and concluded that the cost to Californians is $10.5 billion per year.

California doesn't have to go through all that trouble of issuing library cards to illegal immigrants. All they have to do is contact our PBSO that has issued 2000 ID cards to immigrants here and find out their procedure on undermining our federal laws.
