CONGRESSMAN ALLEN WEST STATEMENT ON STATUS OF RACE

Stuart, FL - Congressman Allen West released the following statement regarding the election results certified today by the St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections:

"Since Election Day we have been working for a fair and accurate accounting of the election outcome in which voters can put their full trust.  We will review the results of today's recount and the other available data to determine how to proceed.  I have been humbled by the support we have received and the hard work of so many to ensure the integrity of this process.

We look forward to the report which will be issued by the Secretary of State's auditors this coming week which we hope will shed light on some of the outstanding issues."

West’s campaign, though, is calling for an emergency hearing over “concerns” raised during the recount process, including results showing that 900 votes were cast in precinct 93, where there are only seven voters registered.

“As usual, Murphy’s people are full of garbage,” West campaign manager Tim Edson told the Post. “This is something the secretary of state and governor will have to sort out.”

You would think that Murphy would also want a recount to assure everyone that he was the winner. Otherwise ,there will always be a cloud of doubt over him.
