Freedom of Information Day

"Freedom of Information Day" is celebrated annually on March 16, James Madison's  birthday.  James Madison was the fourth president of this great country and is widely known as an advocate for openness in government. He is hailed as the “Father of the Constitution” for being instrumental in the drafting of the United States Constitution and as the key champion and author of the United States Bill of Rights.

Madison and Thomas Jefferson organized what they called the Republican Party (later called by historians the Democratic-Republican Party).

Although the Vice Mayor, Scott Maxwell, called the requests for public information  "terrorist acts," I have to say that the City of Lake Worth has been cooperative in 99.9% of my requests. We have a terrific employee in Deborah Andrea in the City Clerk's office.
