Good morning Lynn,

This is New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Extended Hands Ministry in action. When I saw this story on your blog, which I was reading as I was waiting for fiancĂ© to get ready for a Chanukah dinner at a friends 5,700 square foot home with a banquet spread fit for Kings and Queens (pun intended). I could not show up to this grand event and enjoy all the blessings knowing this man was in despair and had no resources to provide a Thanksgiving meal to his two children which he cares for alone since his wife and mother of his children was murdered in 2001. I called our Pastor, Reverend Tony L. Cato, who was on the road to family’s house in Georgia and he directed me to call Brother Brandon who is in charge of our Extended Hands of Hope Ministry. He sprung into action and put together a box with not only a turkey and all the fixings for Thanksgiving but approximately a weeks worth of food to get Jeff Phillips and his two children through next week. I will be picking Jeff and his children up on Sunday morning at 9:30am to take them to our 10am service at 819 Washington Avenue. I extend an open invitation to anyone who wants to see what NHMBC is all about. We arrived late at our friends home but they understood. We sat and ate and enjoyed loving fellowship and I was so overjoyed and Thankful that God gave me another opportunity to testify with actions how grateful I am for His unconditional love by doing His works. I am blessed to be a faithful baptized member of New Hope!

I was glad to put into practice doing everything humanly possible to live by my Grandma's beautiful legacy of unconditional Love and compassion.

Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Happy Kwanza to ALL.

Lovingly,
Mark A. Parrilla

I hope the Red Cross can also help. They get millions of dollars to help in just these circumstances.
