Common Ground Church - Love is Greater Than Hate

Comment Up
Pastor Mike Olive

"Anything can happen in 24 hours"--that was the message this morning. Mike Olive is a dynamic speaker whose sincerity and love for Jesus is contagious. When you get an opportunity, visit one Sunday and listen to his message and meet the friendly folks who come to worship. You won't be disappointed and you will end up being hooked on God.

"God shows up in the middle of the mess with a message. God can do something at any moment."

The Common Ground Church plans on building a bridge of love in the community with the gospel of truth which will be spoken within the City of Lake Worth.

Next Saturday and Sunday, the church will be serving free coffee from 7am until 7pm during Pride Fest  because they love Lake Worth. They have also asked the city if they can use the Cultural Plaza on Easter for an hour service. They are waiting for a reply.

We also heard that the city is getting 30 - 40 calls a day about the 'business' license that isn't a business license for Common Ground but because they serve coffee 84 hours a week and have church 6 (SIX) hours a week - a special use permit is required. Read the words the city uses on paper and throw away what they tell you - Mike Paid $160 above and beyond what anyone else is required to pay to allow groups to meet at the coffee shop for church. That is a fee or "Pay to Pray" cost! Call it what you like but it is what it is!

The city really needs to forget about this little church. What in the hell is wrong with LW?

shameful to think how much tax payer money and time LW spent going after this little church...these officials should be reprimanded

I have a shop on Dixie Hwy. I paid all of my taxes and went through the proper channels to obtain my permits and licenses. Why does he think because he's a church that he is exempt from going through the proper channels. This is what happens when you cut corners and lie to the city. Just because I cut hair does that mean I can't get special privileges like Mike thinks he's entitled too?

Is your business a not-for-profit or a 501(c)?
No one is looking for "special" privileges.

thanks to andy -he has to feel like he is really needed-but he isn't- even people who voted for him are now saying they won't again--andy find another city and good luck

This has nothing to do with Andy. Just because of his sexual orientation? Come on people. It wasn't just him, there are other people on the dias too. To single out one comissioner is asinine. Mikes church and beliefs may not condone homosexuality but doesn't mean Andy is to blame.
