To answer for anonymous above, all the municipalities published their budgets as did we. I can't recall the figures in the Post but I just looked up Wellington's final budget on-line; Wellington Ad-valorem: $16,162,495 Wellington Public Safety: 8,414,813
We pay over twice what Wellington pays, a city with a bigger land mass and twice the number of people.
Yes the amount we show includes pension obligations. I am also assuming that Wellington's published budget does the same thing but I don't know for sure. If you break down just PBSO--it is $15mil and still $7 mil higher than Wellington. (Not going to do the research to verify the exact amount we will be paying the Sheriff but it was somewhere in that range). Fire is another $2.7 million. The published budget in the PB Post had an amount of $19.817 million for Public Safety.

Lynn, does our excessive payment to PBSO relate to LWPD pension obligations, it seems very odd that we would pay so much more than Welly.
