Quotes of the Day - Scott Maxwell and Chris McVoy

Comment Up
Regarding our Beach Fund...the back and forth went something like this:

Vice Mayor Scott Maxwell:  We have an obligation to pay back the fund loan.  How do we move forward with this kind of information [City's Summary of Revenues and Expenses] on the street?

Did we address what the agenda item called for to discuss the financials and come to an agreement as to what the numbers are and the answer is "no" because these are the same numbers that we started with when we opened up the meeting.

Commissioner McVoy:  They're correct.

Vice Mayor Maxwell:  They're NOT correct.

Commissioner McVoy:  I'm sorry.  The Finance Director and our City Manager tell us they're correct.  If you're keeping books of the city, maybe you've got a different set of books.

Commission members who accommodated the incompetence of 3 1/2 years failed City management by City Manager Bornstein, allowing
demolishing of a Citizens owned City Assets,Shuffle Board Court,(WHO GOT PAID HOW MUCH FOR THIS PRIME LOT?Sneaky out of the SUNSHINE negotiations again!increase salary with $20,000.- needed for infrastructure.Like Green Acres,Lake Worth needs a City Manager with qualifications to manage a first class located Palm Beach Island Oceanfront Beach Town.
Commission members who vote for demolishing City owned properties, must be recalled, replaced, for total lack of competence to run a Municipality
must be replaced by capable fellow taxpayers.Incompetent Commission members, will further accommodate his incompetence proven in 3 1/2 years,no improvement of Citizens quality of life, more crime, loss of revenue, from Casino/Beachfront Commercial spaces, causing inability of Lake Worth to pay back the Debt, demolishing more City properties, for inability to manage.Lake Worth had a $3.4million surplus prior to this City Manager.I have Newspaper Art.
Lake Worth wake up.Take back Lake Worth.
Taxpayer since 1990.

We need a change in our commissioners as Maxwell cannot even get it right when he does all the talking. How do you trust someone like that.

Way to go, Chris. The CM is pulling out his hair with Scotty and Pam.

After you left when exiting I had the privilege of watching Scott's pit bull yelling at the mayor that she was rude, crude and other choice adjectives. Don't question Scottie boy. The mayor was unusually calm and restrained--just stating "Thank you." And left.

What is going on with Maxwell? He seems to lose his temper a lot. No one understands why he wouldn't raise parking fees and no one understands why he keeps bitching about our casino. Who does he listen to? Peggy Fisher and Loretta Sharp? Make the right decisions here Scott. He is just too crazy about this subject which leads me to believe that there is something else going on.

Scott knows he's toast. No ones running against him , but he is going to be in the minority after the next election. It's going to be fun to watch the new mayor shut him up at each meeting like Nicotine junky Triolo tries to do to Mcvoy at every meeting. Or maybe Hamburger Boy just ain't getting any.

We can all see that Scott has been consistent in doing everything possible to prove that the beach property is unable to even break even. Even when it is--then he has to hire more lifeguards etc. to again place it in the red. Almost as red as his face when he talks about it. Let's get this straight once and for all: the beach budget was balanced this year before he put it back in the red--apparently his main goal in government. I have to wonder who else he is serving. I was pleasantly surprised to hear they are not entertaining the new plan for HH to insert itself in our beach. We think. He stressed over and over to me in a past conversation that what Lake Worth REALLY needs is a BIG ANCHOR HOTEL. (Like my bull needs tits?)Do you think the plan beneath the surface is to flip the Gulfstream (and beach, natch) to a Holiday Inn or like party?? HH has done nothing with it. Any bets on who will own it post election??
