As mayor Pam Triolo is running for re-election, is it really prudent for her to give a campaign speech 6 weeks before the election? That is what it will be. All challengers for mayor should have the same opportunity or she should cancel until after March 15.

Next, who authorized free parking? I don't recall this coming before the commission for a vote? This was probably decided by administration and classified as a community benefit. What this is, is a one-sided political stump speech underwritten by the taxpayers of Lake Worth.

And you know that, Mayor.

We're still pretty much like Pahokee and only Triolo, Maxwell, and Amoroso can save us. They just need another 10 years or so.

There. Now you don't have to go.

It better be short speech or her high-ness will have to scurry outside for a "nicotine" break.
Since when is it OK to weasel out of doing the job you are being paid tax dollars for and run outside of the council chambers so you don't have to vote on an issue? This is exactly what the mayor did at the last meeting.
We deserve better than this bully. I'm going to be voting for Ms. Jacques.

Thanks, anonymous at 10:06. Term limits might be in order.

Diaper and politicians should be changed often,
Both for the same reason.

That is a bit disingenuous, Lynn, you would be the first to beat her up if she didn't do a State of the City address as she does every year whether or not there is an election. Shame on you.

@3:12--truth hurts you guys a lot. Give it AFTER the election as I suggested above otherwise it looks like and probably is electioneering on the company dime.

The Mayor pretty much returned from an Illegal 24 minute 'Smoke/Potty' break.
See it's not listed in the Rules of Procedure Rule 5 'Order of Business'.
Then there's Rule 4 (4) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE “CHAIR”
(4) The Chair shall not make or second a motion. Which leads to Rule 7
NON-DEBATABLE MOTIONS - To take a recess;

She doesn't have any more power than the people to just decide to violate the rules!
She can leave the dais and pee at anytime but no authority to declare a break or even
make a motion (or second) for a break!

She made it back to the dais a whole 10 minutes after she returned from the illegal 'break' to rehash the 'Public Places R Parks' vote. Then she left the dais in a huff and NEVER RETURNED! She walked out on 4 Ordinance Votes and 1 Resolution (setting Park Hours to Sunrise to sunset) vote. The meeting ended at 9:03!

I could not attend this meeting but it sounds like the fur may have been flying a bit close to the ground. Could the prolonged break by the Mayor have been taking the safer ground if the ACLU brings a suit?
Can she be sued if she wasn't present at the time?? Just a thought--

@7:41...she was there for the vote to approve the Ordinance. She left the room on the Resolution to set the hours of opening and closing.
