Lake Worth Incumbents Campaign Barbecue at City Park

Comment Up

1) Note that although 3 Commission members (Maxwell, Triolo and Amoroso) were there and speaking (campaigning), the meeting was not publicly noticed--see screenshot below.

2) Note their three signs all over Sunset Ridge Park. Campaign signs are not allowed on city property. From MuniCode: The placing of temporary political signs anywhere on public property is prohibited. Signs located on public property shall be deemed to be public property and shall be summarily removed by the city.

3) Note two City of LW trucks there.

4) Note Firefighters getting dragged in. Who doesn't love firefighters?

 5) Free food? Permit required?

6) Maxwell rented golf carts for this campaign. Cost, $1,034.  Not only were there carts but you can see them all over the city.  Maxwell is riding around at night with some volunteers doing "sign work."

7) Maxwell got a $500 contribution from the Firefighter FactPac

They have raised so much money from outside interests that it makes your head swim. They just prove, once again, that they know they are above the law and the rest of us be damned.

Anonymous said...

Really. You guys are a piece of work. How low can you stoop. OK it is ok for you three to break the law and then throw it in our face. And you complained about Diane Jacques. You are pond scum now. I sure you all told a bunch of lies there too. I can only hope and pray that the residents of Lake Worth see you three for what you are. OH YEH, Mr. Easton don't forget to made a big deal out of this unlawful gathering.

Did you invite the homeless and the police? Why did you just stop with the firefighters.

Anonymous said...

Hope they had shovels with them to clean up the horse poop you 3 crapped out.

Come on everyone we all KNOW their going to get re-elected. Everyone wants the roads fixed, employees treated better, trash picked up better and stronger ordinances but sadly enough the same ol trash continues to get re-elected year after year. I myself see them all as worthless politicians but the sad truth is still truth.

Lynn Anderson said...

I don't know that all of them will get re-elected. They probably believe that they will. I just don't like elected officials ignoring laws, ignoring charter amendments, ignoring ethics, if you will. Picking up opponent signs under the stealth of darkness is not a cool thing for an adult to condone. It's been reported that sign theft is going on.

No worries, they won't win, only a few handfuls(maybe 20) of people showed up today anyway. The people know how bad they are. Looked what they did today, breaking all those laws, using the money Benny's and all gave them for the favors to try and buy votes today, but people know the truth. It won't work pammy! You think you know best don't you? Lynn, I love you exposing the truth about these imbeciles. They are real pieces of work. Lie, cheat, steal, so ineffective as leaders, an insult to humanity. Too bad the other candidates didn't show up too and enjoy the food and show them up! By the way, the police and firefighters never showed up to cook, none were there, they had pulled pork and raw bbq chicken. God knows where that came from. We need to vote out the trio come March 15. I know I will. What they are doing is despicable to say the least. Lynn stay on their asses please!

Why doesn't someone report this lawlessness to the state election authorities?

Anonymous said...

Too bad that people who have little money don't have the businesses of Lake Worth in their pockets like these 3 do.

Anonymous said...

They would just buy their way out of that too.

I really hope Gary wins the major spot. What happened to this city?? I miss the old Bennys and Lake Worth Beach. Everything is so mainstream now up there. Im all about change but good change, not this political bs! Just like Bennys... That place used to be all about the locals now it's all about tourists. The owner bought that restaurant for his Silver Spooned son "Max", thats never had a real job and drives a 200,000 car paid by his daddy, had something to do. From what I hear about that place Max is incompetent and Jeremy runs the show. Their running that placed into the ground.
We need a change, we need a completely turnover of everyone in city hall.

ive heard the same. Hes just a spoiled kid playing boss on his daddys dime.maybe he'll follow in his paps footsteps of throwing money around to get what he wants. I miss John and peter up there :(

Anonymous said...

The food has gotten better but the prices have SKYROCKETED!!!!!!! Definitely has a corporate feel to it now. Everything bout the old beach was better / i saw kick all the officials out and being back the old lw. Care about the employees and stop lying to us the public

Anonymous said...

They don't want a quaint town they want us to be like the Palm Beaches. The tourist notice the change and they really don't like it. There goal is to bring more money people to town and to hell with the residents that are already here. Why do they think the people go to the islands for vacations. It is the quaintness and the diversity.

The state election authorities don't give a damn.Feel free to report this to them. See where you get. Nowhere! How about reporting them to the county ethics inspector-He'll just laugh in your face. The current IG is a friend of the city manager Bornstein.
The people of Lake Worth are another matter all together. They are angry and fed up with the "low trio". PBSO-feel free to look at what Maxwell is carrying around in his golf cart. Not exactly Maxwell signs. And are those golf carts street legal ? I guess that all of the candidates can now put their signs all over city hall,Bryant Park, the cultural plaza, etc.

Is that Piglet Fisher I see taking a picture of something? Looks like old Piglet has been helping herself to a bit too much Bar-B-Que !

Anonymous said...

Comment regarding Benny's. You won't see too many seniors in their as there idea of a meal out is the local fast food place and the value menu. That is all they can afford.

Anonymous said...

Orphan Piglet looking for father. Fears he may have become bacon.

Lynn Anderson said...

Cute, anonymous @7:03. You just put down a whole lot of people. Actually, a good percentage of Seniors have a lot of disposable income.
I, too, don't go to Benny's anymore. Why would I go to a restaurant that supports this trio with large campaign contributions? What is he going to get out of the deal? A better lease?

Not to get off topic but i saw someone mention bennys on the beach. The food is amazing thanks to the chef but it is sad to see it as a tourist only place. They completely ran out the local feel of the place, yes they are banking but i still miss that local charm it used to have. I say give Jeremy full control since hes the only down to earth one and might be able to bring it back. Lee is to worried about promiting Trump and playing nice with the city while max is totally clueless on life. Hey max take mommy nip outta your mouth and put down daddys pacifier, step aside n' grow up, shouldnt you be doing something playboyish with daddys millions anyway?. Sad to see what Bennys turned into... Just yet another touristy resturant

Anonymous said...

Peter was so nice when he owned Bennys. He kept his affiliation with city officials professional and loved chatting with everyone. Lee only gives people who are "important" the time of day, it appears he has his own agenda. Bennys lost that hometown charm up after Peter & John sold it. I'm sure Bennys & HH are best buds too

Anonymous said...

You mean Peter and John sold out???? What?? So all that time being friendly and local and then they cashed in?? Blasphemy! You people are lost little puppys.

Anonymous said...

Back to the BBQ
Whoopee! The Trio has stooped to the lowest level of the pond scum. Breaking laws to promote their glory.

Anonymous said...

What laws were broken? Lost little whiny puppies.

Check with our code, anony at 12:46. Against ordinance with political signs on public property. These incumbents know this but they don't give a damn as long as they get their way. Pathetic. you can bet that if this was in reverse, they would get their favorite tool, PF, to file a complaint.

Anonymous said...

maxwell, get off you hiney and do some walking. it is healthy. Stop stealing hartman's signs.

Benny's food stinks now, it is way too expensive, and just horrible. Anyone try their $20 lobster roll? So bad for that price. Too expensive and poor quality food. The old owners served good food, the new ones don't. Too, they are unethical, buying parking spaces from these comm. to move some decal beach parking to the south end when this issue never came up at a comm. meeting at all. Now Benny's owners are giving these three $1000 in campaign funding that paid for the BBQ on Sunday. Benny's owners and this trio are all bad news for our city, I will not vote for any of these three nor eat at Benny's ever again. All of what they serve sucks along with their business practices.

Chris McVoy was the childish photographer taking these pictures. He should be reported for all his unethical behavior....stalking Scott as Scott campaigns at a neighbors door. He should be ashamed of his rude behavior. You guys are clearly scared if you only have this to gripe about. The party was legal and correctly permitted. You should have seen Chris running away like Forest Gump! Run Forest Run!!!!

Lynn Anderson said...

I would have been taking them myself, anonymous @2:37 but I was not there. I am happy that he took photos of the illegal signs erected on city property. At least he didn't take your photo taking a picture of him...now that IS childish and stalking.

Anonymous said...

I was there. It was a fine Bar-B-Que with all the fixins. I came late and seemed like the crowd was thinning out and I was there to see a commissioner stalking around the perimeter taking pictures. I thought he was coming in to say hi to some of his constituents, but he didn't. He, and you and anyone else would have been welcomed and would have had some great Bar-B-Que. Everyone WAS invited.

As far as the signs showing it was a picnic for the three incumbents, when they rented the pavilion for the day is silly. The city did not have o remove them as they were not meant for any other purpose. You all are really grasping.

Anonymous said...

Signs were all over the place. They didn't rent a city park did they? Who's grasping?

Anonymous said...

Boy are you guys ever stretching. Trying to CYA for your illegal behavior? By the way 12:46pm you really are a bully and a pyscho like the rest of your buddies.

Anonymous said...

Hey don't pick on the homeless - they have the right to vote too!

And yes there were homeless there... One of them was the white dude who drives a white van and parks on Lucerne at the Cultural Plaza almost every day... He loved the BBQ

Lynn Anderson said...

Happy to know some Homeless people were there. What would have been a super great campaign strategy was to open this up to the poor folks in our city...extend a nice meal to a homeless instead of scarfing down the food yourself!

Anonymous said...

Careful Lynn, unless you can prove Scott or anyone else is stealing signs you are committing libel by publishing and untrue statements

Lynn Anderson said...

No one said that Scott was stealing signs. Is he?
Was that just a Freudian slip on your part?

Anonymous said...

Dod ya know Lynn the BBQ was open to the whole community! And yes, the Pavillion was rented as well as he bounce house for the kids... And last I checked you can have and utilize the space for the period of time you rent the space... Go scratch another cat post

Lynn Anderson said...

Yes, that's what was said last night.
Who rented it?
Who pulled the permit?
The signs were all over the outside of the park, NOT just the pavilion. So, how do you account for that?
Why not give the truth about it, not only to the people but to the city attorney and see what he says. Heck, even the city clerk could answer that one.
