The Pope and The Donald

Comment Up

ABOARD THE PAPAL PLANE (AP) — Pope Francis said Thursday that Donald Trump is "not Christian" if he wants to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexican border. Trump immediately fired back, saying it is disgraceful for a religious leader to question a person's faith.

I agree with Trump on this one.

Actually I believe what the Pope said is building walls instead of bridges is unchristian. No mention of the Donald.
And as far as the Catholic Church and cover ups for pedophiles--very sadly that is true. In our own diocese of Palm Beach recently Father John Gallagher was denied continuing to head Holy Name of Jesus parish because he nipped a case of pedophilia in the bud. He notified a member of the police force who attends there and a confession from the priest was obtained and this time it was handled correctly. The boy was not molested and the sheriff's office wrote a letter of commendation for the swift and correct action by Father John. No good deed goes unpunished and he was censored for this and sent elsewhere. Then maligned by our bishop. The hierarchical church many times to me does also act in an unchristian manner. "Whosoever harms one of these little ones, it may be better he had not been born."

There may have been no mention of Donald Trump that was verbalized by the Pope, but everyone knows who he was talking about---except you. The pope needs to stay out of our affairs. I was against him speaking before Congress as well. I think he should open up his treasury and support all these illegals crossing our borders...better yet, invite them all to live in Vatican City.
