You scratch mine and I'll scratch yours

Comment Up

Everyone remembers this momentous event in Lake Worth. The owner of Propaganda and AOS Live had an event in our downtown supposedly because that establishment was endorsing the three incumbents...at least that's what he told us.

As it turns out, it was all a "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" event. The three incumbents paid the owner $1,000 each for his endorsement where they were appearing and playing bartender from 8pm to 10pm and taking questions from anyone who gave a damn other than the next Martini. The genius of this marketing scheme was the owner taking advantage of the occasion and using elected officials to draw customers to his bar without losing a dime!

The sad part is you have ignorant backstabbing liars like Windy-cunt defending her friends . She and others say "we'll enter the dark ages" if the majority is kicked out of office.WTF ? Does the woman not have the ability to look around her? Pam ,Andy and Scott have been running our city into the ground for the last 5 years! They did not take office yesterday !

they paid for an endorsement? How did that owner spin it? How did this commission spin it? love to hear what they say about it. the sky would fall in I'm afraid.

someone needs to go on the record with this or it could be libel

Lynn Anderson said...

What could be libel? That they paid Propaganda $1,000 each to hold this "event" for them and get the owner's endorsement?

Anonymous said...

It appears they EACH PAID $1,000.00

The invitation included 2 FREE DRINKS,
a Question Box and Voter Registration.
There was NO public meeting notice, NO
Disclaimer at the bottom (that can be read)
& if this isn't unethical PLUS mismanaging
their campaign money what is?

2 hours - $1,000.00
6 hours - $3.000.00

It's not unethical, or mismanagement - the money paid for the bands and the party.

shame on you Lynn for posting these despicable vulgarities. You get pious when it suits you.

You mean the word CUNT? Was there more than one "despicable" vulgarity? Oh well. Nothing to do with me being "pious." You got it mixed up. You guys do so much worse that it isn't funny. This is politics in the raw. Get used to it.

Lynn, you go to every city meeting, can you verify, did anyone every come to the meeting and complain requesting moving some parking spots in decal parking to the south end ever? I think not, I think that the Benny's owners paid the city comm and mayor bookoo bucks so to have some spaces moved down there. It was so stupid! What do you know about this Lynn?

Lynn Anderson said...

Moving some of the Beach decal parking spaces NEVER came up at any city commission meeting. All of a sudden, 23 spaces were moved up near Benny's. And then, lo and behold, Benny's gives the incumbents $1,000 each in campaign contributions. just a coincidence, I am sure.

I think splitting the spots, although confusing at best with signage and half city spots in one lot and half open spots in the same city lot, makes sense as there are folks who like the south end of the beach vs. the north end (for surfing, etc.).

But, the Benny's guy (and I like Benny's) pulled a fast one taking over space that was not part of his lease and then getting the lease modified after the fact (for cheap, he also got hours expanded for dinner at super cheap rate). He is a business guy and that is what he should do, but we as a City should manage our fricken assets with some capability. These leases should have escalator clauses, their profit goes up, we get a cut. That is what most municipalities do, they don't give a super cheap lease for 10 years, they build in profit over time. If business does well then city gets to share. The Beach Club at the golf course, which again is doing great and I'm a fan, is being subsidized by tax payers even though he is doing super great. Build in some profit for our City, goodness knows we need it in our coffers.

Benny's pays a lot for his lease--$20K a month.
The Beach Club is an entirely different thing.

forgive my ignorance, but is paying for a space to have a meet and greet illegal?
And who knows who the establishment owners will vote for - No-one will ever know, right?
I remember Cara Jennings notoriously called the owner of a business in Lw that agreed to host an event for Scott Maxwell, and THREATENED them, using her title as Commissioner. She said the business would be boycotted if they hosted the event.
Hmmmm...which is possibly worse?
I for one am very glad to be far away from those tactics by our elected officials.

I am surprised you let the C-word through. This is a really ugly term and no woman deserves it. On the event, I think what is interesting is the mayor and commissioners have to pay for their votes, and they have to throw a fancy party. These three are all too embarAssed to go door to door in this town. Most of us know that they worked their butts off to give away our beach to a developer, and still will if we re-elect them!! They do not want to face us!

1. All of them together in a Meet and Greet? You don't see anything wrong with that? and paying 43,000 of contributor's money to tend bar for a vote?
2. The owner does NOT live in Lake Worth so we don't need to worry about who he might vote for.
3. This should have been honest from the get-go.
4. Scott Maxwell had a fundraiser at Nature's Way. Nature's Way did not come out with a big news event PR release about it or give an endorsement. Hardly the same thing. Also, he did not have a fundraiser with other candidates. I don't recall what Jennings did at the time but I did not approve of what she did but I can say that Nature's Way is not bubbling over with customers waiting in line for service.
5. The tactics of today are far worse than any of yesterday.

Pam Triolo,Scott Maxwell and Andy Amoroso have secret out of the sunshine meetings REGULARLY at city hall. There was finally a witness. The three are getting sloppy ! Does Triolo even live in Lake Worth any more? She does not live in her house. She is renting it out to someone else!

Once upon a time there were three little pigs. Pammy pig built her house out of straw. But the tax man came and blew Pammy's house down. Andy-handy pig built his house out of sticks. But his house got so full of gummy horny pigs that it blew apart. Scotty pig built his house out of bricks. Unfortunately ,they were inferior bricks that had come from an old torn down hotel that had stood in the center of the town for almost 100 years. One day Scotty pig was cooking hamburgers when the bricks caught fire and burned his house down.
The moral of the story ? Don't be a stupid pig, like Pammy,Andy-handy and Scotty.
