Another business Bites the Dust in downtown Lake Worth

Hoffman's Chocolates just couldn't generate enough business to survive in our downtown, a downtown where people seem to be more into a cold beer than a piece of chocolate.

I was surprised when they opened up four years ago in our downtown as we already had one chocolate company on Lake Avenue, Kilwin's.  However, Hoffman's was well known having originally opened in 1975 with its headquarters in Greenacres on Lake Worth Road.

If you're not a restaurant, a nightclub, a bar, sell kava or porn, you might just as well fold up.

I like the Coconut's boutique, very cute outfits. Took my sister by and she fell in love with a little beach coverup, the staff was very helpful and sis will be styling this weekend in the Keys.

I like the tiki store and the pet supply store as well, they both offer unique stuff you don't see everywhere and I like supporting our local shops... wish there were more and I wish more Lake Worthians would choose to support local businesses - they are the life bread of our city. I did all my holiday gift shopping downtown on the Avenues and was able to knock all my shopping out in 1 afternoon and still have one for a healthy lunch at Natures Way.

See ya at the next food truck explosion!

It's too bad that the pet supply store got so political. Turns people right off. You sound like you write PR for LW. Another one of those highly paid execs.

You sound angry and sad.

Angry and sad to see crack whores prancing on Lucerne and wondering if that kid nodded out at a cafe table has O D'd

The average person can't afford anything in the boutique you speak so highly of. And the pet supply place turned a lot of people off when they supported the destruction of a John Prince Park. Also, the owner of the pet food place made sure that another business had their parking taken away. For political reasons, of course. What a great(women?) right?
Look, the city of Lake Worth does ZERO to promote it's downtown. The merchants are pussy's who are to afraid to stand up for the citizens. They stupidly bow down to their masters in the city.So afraid of the chubby soft porn dealer and his code enforcement army. Don't say or do anything to offend him or your business is toast right? I say SCREW the downtown merchants.
